Houston BBQ

Just came back from a wonderful gluttonous trip to the South. We begun the trip with some delicious ribs and brisket from Gatlins BBQ when we drove by Houston towards camping. It was great start for a meaty journey and very satisfying. The meat just fell off the bones and melted in my mouth, barely need chewing.  The peach cobbler was pretty good too, gooey, sweet and warm.

More Panko Action

Last night, I made baked Tilapia with crispy panko crust. And a creamy salad with fresh beets and really rich and flavorful goat cheese. Yummmmmmmm

HAPPY EASTER!

Every year I planned to paint eggs for Easter... but always got put off. Finally this year I painted the eggs! ... well... very simply and quickly painted.

Light and Crispy

Baked zucchini and sweet potato fries; easy, tasty and healthy. Also had couscous with onions and dried dates to go with the baked vegetables. I followed this recipe here. Dr. Castle, of course, couldn't do without a drink with meal, he made a very refreshing drink with Midnight Moon, Bellini, ginger tea juice (from Trader Joe's), dash of bitters and lemon.

Is heating Up!

With the season warming up fast, I look for cool refreshing treats. Trader Joe's Pomegranate Blueberry Sherbet is the perfect snack for this hot spring weather.

Bistro St. Tropez

Bistros St. Tropez is quite a wonderful place for French cuisine. The restaurant has a great view of the city, and I enjoyed eating there the other night. We started with refreshing salmon ceviche, Dr, Castle had the fillet Mignon, and I had the pan seared duck breast with pomegranate sauce. It was a really good night, the food was delicious.
